Y.A.C.H.T. (Young Adults at the Church of the Holy Trinity)
Young adults in their 20’s and 30’s are the fastest growing age group at The Church of the Holy Trinity. Y.A.C.H.T. participates in social, service, and spiritual events throughout the church and city.
The mission of Y.A.C.H.T. is to:
1. Provide opportunities for socializing, service, and spiritual growth for 20’s/30’s members and friends of CHT.
2. Involve young adults in the life of CHT.
3. Serve CHT and the wider community.
SOCIAL EVENTS In addition to the regular gatherings listed below, other outings and special events are organized from time to time.
UnWined
An informal gathering with drinks and appetizers on the last Friday of the month, UnWined is usually held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rectory or at the home of another staff member. Attendees are asked to bring an appetizer or beverage (wine, beer, or non-alcoholic) to share.
Sunday Brunch
Held about once a month, Sunday Brunch is a casual brunch out at a local restaurant following the 11:00 worship service. Locations vary. Brunch is a great opportunity to meet other young adults and catch up with friends.
SERVICE OPPURTUNITIES Y.A.C.H.T. works closely with the Outreach Committee to plan and promote service opportunities for young adults.
Service in the City
Y.A.C.H.T. participates in volunteer events to help the city. These have included service projects at other churches that needed some TLC and participating in major city-wide events such as Philadelphia Cares Day.
Service in the Church
Y.A.C.H.T. also volunteers within the church. These opportunities include the bi-annual rummage sale and helping with the monthly cook-off to feed the elderly and shut-ins in Center City.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH Social gatherings and service events are natural opportunities for spiritual growth, but Y.A.C.H.T. also seeks to offer education and formation programs specifically for young adults.
Spiritual growth programs for Y.A.C.H.T. have included film nights, the Forum on Being Single and Dating, and a dinner discussion series on the Seven Deadly Sins. Many young adults at CHT also participate in Home Groups and other church-wide educational offerings.
