Community Spotlight…CHT’s Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee invites you to be a part of the educational, service-oriented, and prayerful outreach events that will take place at CHT this fall. Over the summer, the Outreach Committee has been working hard to put together a program of events that captures the diverse interests of the CHT community while inspiring members to work towards justice.
This fall as a church community, we will explore our Christian call as we:
• learn more about our new partnership with Ready, Willing, and Able, discuss the homelessness situation in Philadelphia and discover how we can affect change.
• renew our relationship with St. Phillips church as we fill their food pantry with our prayers and donations of food in order to assist their growing ministry to serve the most hungry in their community.
• traverse the far-away lands of Egypt and gain knowledge of the dire orphanage situation in the country as presented through the eyes and experiences of CHT member Andrea Saylor.
• spend a day as a community in prayer and call on the Lord to fill all of our hearts with a fiery spirit to work on justice issues wherever our hearts are called.
In order for these endeavors to be success, we hope you will take a moment now and mark in your calendars, write on your mounting to-do lists, or post a note on your fridge, and make it a priority to attend these events that reflect the aforementioned actions:
• Sunday, September 21st at 12:30 pm- Service Reflection from a CHT Member. Andrea Saylor, CHT Member, will present on her year living with orphans in Egpyt and will collect a donation to assist the children at the orphanage meet their everyday needs.
• Saturday, October 25th from 12 pm to 2pm- Community Prayer Day. Stop by anytime during these four hours and join us in prayer.
• Sunday, November 9th at 12:30 pm- Ready Willing Able Educational Event and Forum. Learn more about the organization and our new partnership with RWA.
• Every 1st Sunday of Month-Food Pantry Donations. Bring in your food donations to be blessed and then sent to the St. Phillips Food Pantry.
