Home Groups Being Formed

Originaly Posted on February 26, 2008 Posted in News |

We are currently in the process of forming a number of small groups of individuals who share a mutual desire to meet on a regular basis to prayerfully study the Bible and discuss its application to our daily lives. These groups meet on a regular basis in an informal setting in the home of one of the group members for a fixed number of sessions.

Each Home Group chooses its own Bible books for discussion, and provides a primary means of personal exploration and support for individuals as we seek to live Christ-centered lives from day-to-day.

Pat Deacon and Andy Gutknecht have been running such a group for over a year, and it has proven to be a highly rewarding experience for all involved, both spiritually and personally.

If you think you might be interested in finding out more about this program (with absolutely no obligation at this time!) please join Pat, Andy, and the rest of their Home Group (along with other individuals who have already expressed interest) for a brief meeting after the service on Sunday (March 2nd) in the Parish House.

Lenten Study

Originaly Posted on February 7, 2008 Posted in News |

Topic: Who Was Jesus And Why Does It Matter?
For 2,000 years Jesus has been the central figure of Christianity and shaped the imagination of Western
culture. But ever since the Enlightenment scholars have questioned whether the Jesus of history and the
Christ of faith are really the same person. Can we trust the biblical portraits of Jesus? What about the
Gnostic Gospels? Has the Church’s “Christology” overshadowed the actual person of Jesus himself?
Various “Quests for the Historical Jesus” have been undertaken to get at these very issues. Our Lenten
study will focus on the question of the historical identity of Jesus and how further insight into it might
make us more faithful followers of our Master the Christ.

Originaly Posted on February 7, 2008 Posted in News |

Bring those questions and comments you’re scared to voice in church. That’s right its a no holds barred theological smackdown (or really just a conversation) where every opinion, insight and idea is welcome. We’ll chat about matters of the head and the heart over some healthy libations at Bard’s, located at 2013 Walnut Street.

Tuesday, February 12th at 8:00 p.m.
(Bard’s, 2013 Walnut St., next to the Irish Pub)

Hot Spots at Holy Trinity!

Originaly Posted on February 7, 2008 Posted in News |

Scott Jones, with the support of Peter Ryker, has managed to make Free Wi-Fi available at Holy Trinity.
While this is exciting for us in the Parish House, we also have it in the Nave and Narthex. This allows us
to invite our neighbors and guests to use our quiet, sacred space to “Get Connected.”

Some of you are asking, “What does this mean?” It allows anyone with a personal laptop computer to
perch on a pew and get on-line for free. We hope this is a tool to help us connect with people, as they
connect with the internet – and God.

Go ahead, bring your laptop and get connected for free!

Hot Spots at Holy Trinity! All we need is a coffee-shop and a barista. Hm…
